Building a Long-distance 900MHz Battery-powered Mesh Network

Conventional wisdom holds that you cannot build battery powered mesh networks. That is no longer true. This session introduces the OpenRF^TM platform for wireless connectivity and discuss core technologies, including rendezvous and self-promotion/demotion that make it possible to achieve long battery life (15+ years) and high density (thousands of nodes) from inexpensive embedded devices. The presentation discusses the development paradigm for building OpenRF^TM applications in firmware using the Renesas HEW development tool. It also discusses an open-use licensing model that allows anyone to use OpenRF^TM for free.
