Building a Long-distance 900MHz Battery-powered Mesh Network

Conventional wisdom holds that you cannot build battery powered mesh networks. That is no longer true. This session introduces the OpenRFTM platform for wireless connectivity and discuss core technologies, including rendezvous and self-promotion/demotion that make it possible to achieve long battery life (15+ years) and high density (thousands of nodes) from inexpensive embedded devices. The presentation discusses the development paradigm for building OpenRFTM applications in firmware using the Renesas HEW development tool. It also discusses an open-use licensing model that allows anyone to use OpenRFTM for free. One person attending this session will be selected to receive a free OpenRFTM Core Development Kit, a $349 value.
