Design Issues of Embedded Flash-based File Systems

This session addresses aspects of embedding a file system, especially in a system that uses a flash-based storage device. It covers key design issues such as "Which file system structure is best? (Do my files need to be compatible with another operating system's file system?)" and "Which storage media will be used? (Does it have to be removable?)" The discussion about the answers to these questions covers various important criteria, including the amount of space needed, the required performance, cost limitations, and the effects of power loss.
