Obtaining Interactive Control of an MCU and Development Tools using HEW Target Server
The subject of this lab session is the HEW Target Server, a COM object for Windows. It exposes an API that allows a Windows application to control and share data with both the Renesas HEW IDE and any target MCU or MPU connected to HEW via a debug link. Hands-on experiments explore how the HEW Target Sever can control HEW, read and write MCU memory and registers, set breakpoints, and much more. To provide familiarization with the COM object's API, a class project specifies the completion of code for a Windows application and target MCU. |
