Speed Control using a Digital Encoder and Vector Formulation
This session covers the basics of vector control formulation for permanent-magnet brushless DC (BLDC) electric motors and techniques for implementing this control method. Topics covered include the basic vector control principle, the Clark & Park transformation, and speed and position calculation using an encoder. The complete signal-processing requirements for the control method are explained and typical performance in the areas of speed regulation and CPU bandwidth usage is shown.
