Building and Testing Media Server Applications

This two-hour session builds and tests a media server application running on the Embedded SH-Linux environment. The hardware platform and components used (camera, LCD panel, etc.) are discussed and the various software tools and build process for the application are described. The application captures images from camera, encodes the images, and streams them over the network as a server function. The client node or receiving entity rebuilds the video stream using proper decode functions and displays them on a screen. The performance of the SuperH processor that implements this application is measured.
